Weather falls below freezing point in part of UK.

On Saturday, the mercury dropped below 10.4F(-12C) in Scotland. The coldest this year since March, causing as much snow as 30cm, making movement a problem.

Drivers based in Cumbria made their suffering known to BBC about no access to food and water because of stop-start traffic. The city of Cumbria recorded a “major incident” after Saturday’s heavy snowfall. Police yen for the safety of civilians and travellers, urging no movements unless necessary on Sunday. A number of structures in the area lost their power.

Yellow weather warnings have been provided for the north west of England, the south, the midlands and parts of Scotland and Wales. Over 2,000 people had no electricity and the country’s rescue and fire service went hoisting drivers and travellers stuck in deep snow.
